Our Philosophy
Our commitment to responsibility is about saving energy and creating a healthier workspace environment. We believe that making the environment more pleasant for our staff, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly will increase our enjoyment of the workplace and lessen its impact on the environment as a whole.
Sustainable and responsible treatment of our natural resources is fundamental
- Environment-friendly practices
- We turn off lights and devices when not needed and use energy-saving devices
- Our employees avoid printing where possible
- We are using Nature Clean cleaning products, a bio-active organic compound that soaks up spills and can be used as mulch on gardens
- Absorbent pads are used for small spills and are more absorbent than alternative products, such as kitty litter
- An emergency response kit is located on-site, which includes a containment sock to prevent the accidental spillage of oil
Recycling
- We are saving and reusing old boxes
- All ink and toner cartridges get recycled
- Oils, oil filters and regulated waste are recycled wherever possible
- We use an oil separator unit in the workshop that separates the oil from water and then store the oil in drums and engage a contractor to arrange disposal
Our vehicles
- The new Yutong coaches we sell are fitted with Euro5 engines, which are proven to deliver exceptional performance with low running costs while providing environmental benefits of low noise and low emissions
- Yutong E12 is a 100% electric bus and produces zero emissions
Support of our local community in the Cairns region
- We regularly donate to the Cairns Organisation United for Cancer Health (https://couch.org.au)
We provide decent employment opportunities and quality education
- We offer stable employment and training opportunities for the local community
- We are an equal opportunity employer and actively promote inclusion in the workplace through valuing diversity
- Our training centre provides multiple accredited training courses in the hospitality and tourism sector
- CaPTA developed and implemented an Indigenous Employment Strategy in 2008 to increase employment for local Indigenous people
